Book Illustration
Original, story-driven illustration for picture books, fiction interiors, covers, and non-fiction diagrams — art directed for your genre and delivered print-ready for KDP and IngramSpark.
What it is
A managed illustration service. We read your manuscript, build a visual style and character bible, then produce sketches, line art, and finished colour pieces in a fixed review cycle. Every piece is delivered at 300 DPI in CMYK for print and RGB for ebook, with correct bleed, trim, and spine allowances so your files pass printer review the first time. You own full commercial rights to the finished artwork.
Our process
- 1Brief & manuscript read
We read the full text, agree age range, tone, page count, and trim size, then lock a shot list of every illustration needed.
- 2Style & character bible
Two style directions plus a character sheet with poses, expressions, and a fixed colour palette so characters stay consistent across every page.
- 3Thumbnails & storyboard
Rough black-and-white layouts for the whole book showing composition, text placement, and gutter safety before any colour work starts.
- 4Line art & revisions
Approved thumbnails become clean line art. Two rounds of revisions per illustration are included at this stage — cheapest point to change anything.
- 5Colour, light & texture
Final rendering: palette, lighting, and texture passes, plus continuity checks so props, clothing, and settings match page to page.
- 6Typesetting & print prep
Art placed into the interior with your text, exported as a print PDF (300 DPI, CMYK, bleed and trim applied) and an ebook-optimised set.
- 7Delivery & handover
Layered source files, flattened PNG/JPG, print PDF, and a full rights transfer, plus one free fix round after your printer's proof.
